About Me

Joshua Press in the studio

Hey there. I'm Joshua Press—a sound producer and artist from Australia with a passion for tone, texture, and punch.

I've spent well over a decade refining my craft—playing in bands, producing my own music, and working with artists across metal, rock, and electronic genres. Being a musician myself has taught me that musicians need one crucial thing before allowing somebody working on their art: trust.

Trust is built on three things:

Care

Your time and creativity in music is your life and soul. You need someone who respects that—not someone chasing a cheque and treating your work like a chore.

Communication

There are many paths to a finished release, so course corrections are inevitable. What matters is open dialogue throughout the process.

Skill

You need to know your mixer actually hears the subtle changes they're making. They're not just echoing other producers' tips or following industry dogma—they understand their tools and use them skillfully.

But what actually sets my work apart is my attention to detail. When I work on music, I am focused on maximizing texture, impact, and groove. I am chasing that setting where it just 'feels' right. It reaches a level of excitement and aliveness, or supports the tracks taking those roles.

This approach has caught the attention of industry veterans like Sean Beavan (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson), who said of my work: "We all loved your remix and would love to discuss options on releasing it."

Whether it's the crushing weight of a metal mix, the punch of a rock track, or the atmospheric depth of synthwave, I bring the same philosophy: unearth the energy a song demands to express.
